Go to SchuppKickOff.doc August, 2007 The St. Louis region already has several pro-choice women candidates for the 2008 races. State Representative Margaret Donnelly (D-73) is seeking Attorney General. Additional legislative candidates include Deb Lavender, Gina Mitten, Joan Landmann, Stacey Newman, and Vickie Englund. We are highly pleased with the number of women candidates this early and hope that there are more to join! May, 2007 The National Women's Political Caucus endorsed Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) for her bid for U.S. President. Senator Clinton, facing a multi-candidate primary, is the leading contender on the Democratic ticket and could become the nation's first female president. As first lady, Senator Clinton introduced the SCHIP's program, a healthcare insurance program for our children's neediest. She has been a trailblazer for women--politically, socially, and economically. To learn more about Senator Clinton, or to donate to her campaign, visit her website at www.hillaryclinton.com March, 2007 | | Looking at five key traits of potential presidential candidates, a Gallup Poll with an aggregated sample of over 2,000 interviews conducted in two surveys (Feb. 9-11, 2007 and March 2-4, 2007) found that most Americans are comfortable voting for an African American (84%) or a Woman (77%) candidate. |
